An incredibly sleek bottle of Glenfarclas, which has seen a jaw-dropping 50 years of ageing!
It spent its half a century of maturation in Spanish oak sherry casks, left to rest in cool dunnage warehouses.
Just 146 bottles were produced. The sherried single malt is presented in a Glencairn Crystal decanter,
hand-decorated in copper complete with a copper stopper, too.
The decanter comes alongside a red mahogany piano-finish gift box,
specially chosen to reflect the autumnal hues of Speyside. Very impressive indeed.
Glenfarclas 50 Year Old is the third release in the distillery’s Family series.
It honours George Grant (1874-1949).
One of a few distilleries that have stocks from the 1960s,
this was bottle in 2015 from ex-oloroso-sherry casks.
Limit to 937 bottles, this has notes of crème caramel, butterscotch,
treacle toffee, chocolate ice-cream and sherry soak raisins.
